We observe from the Carburetter Air Silencer Shell drawings - "Bentley" E.B.2915, and 25/30-HP. - E.61228, that they are specified in 28 SWG planished steel. We find in enquiring for these parts that there is considerable difficulty in getting 28 SWG. material, but we can obtain 26 SWG. (.018) much more easily, the difference in thickness is .004. May we be permitted to employ 26 SWG. please ? We understand from Mr. White, Derby, who has made several of these Silencers for Exptl. Dept. that all his samples were produced in 26 SWG.
