Ignition coil LS8.
This coil has the following experimental features:-
a) 20000 turns on the secondary.
b) Extra insulation at the primary layer ends, deleted.
c) Secondary insulated with paraffin waxed paper.
We have run this coil for a long endurance test on our bench rig to show up any weakness in the coil particularly in the insulation of the primary winding.
The coil was run for 385 hrs discharging on a test gap of 6.5 mm and then for a further 740 hrs on an 8.5mm gap, (normal test gap 5.5mm) making (contd)
