RE PATIALA. x30144

Further to our EFC1/T23.8.23, and confirming our telephone conversation with Mr. Clough, we wish to modify our recommendation for the Exide battery to suit this job, and our modified recommendation is the Exide battery 6XRE which has a rated ampere hour capacity of 75, and an actual capacity of 65 to 70 whilst in reasonably good condition.

(By way of explanation, it was an error on our part to give 6XRE in place of 6XR5 in the first instance. Though the rated capacity of the 6BXRE5 is only 66, it is actually equal, or even more than, the one now recommended, and should be Exide Co. recommend this other battery as an alternative, we shall still be quite agreeable to its use, but it is doubtful whether it is now made).

In view of Mr. Clough's note BY/C11/H30.8.23, we are immediately proceeding with the running test of the large dynamo.

The pulley to be used with this machine will be the one actually giving a 1.4 : 1 ratio, the outside dia. of this being 4.5" and at the bottom of the groove 2.800".

We are not quite sure whether we have a detail drawing of this pulley, as it appears from our records that Messrs. Lucas supplied us in the first instance with one or two of this size of pulley.
