| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X228 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.29/KW.7.11.35. Chunking in the Drive. We wish to find out whether we can accentuate the chunks on a Bentley by isolating the gearbox from the engine. Will you please prepare a scheme for this. By moving back the crossmember behind the gearbox we can get the box clear of the spigot. The splines in the prop. shaft and 1st motion shaft ought to accommodate this. We shall need new brake rods, but the pedals will not require alteration. The front end of the gearbox should be supported from the joint face by a rubber mounted cradle, somewhat similar to the SpectreCodename for Phantom III. We shall allocate a car for this experiment at a later date. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
