1025 c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} Confidential. 17th. August 1939. BY.3/N. Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re: Spare wheel cover - 33.G.Vll. We send herewith a print of PD.488 shewing a spare wheel cover of the Lagonda type, which we will be glad if you will make for the above car. We have made up by hand in Derby, a similar cover for 11.B.5. using the pieces of the Cornercroft wheel cover as drawn. We shall use these on several other of our experimental cars, including 31.G.Vll, and we would be glad therefore if you would make a cover for this car also. As a matter of interest, we would like you to take up with your pressing manufacturers, the cost of obtaining suitable pressings in both steel and aluminium, and so give us yourselves a price for the complete wheel cover with fittings. We think this cover should be a lot cheaper than the standard Cornercroft, and decidedly more easy to operate. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Limited. Chief Engineer - Chassis. | ||
