REAR AXLE. GENERAL 1015 GEAR ENGINEERING DATA SHEET REAR AXLE MOUNTING Rear axle gears must be rigidly mounted and accurately located to give successful service. Over a period of years we have conducted very many axle tests and have observed their conduct in service. From this experience we have determined the maximum deflections permissible as noted below: 1- Pinion should not lift or depress more than .003" in either direction. 2- Pinion should not yield axially more than .003" in either direction. 3- Ring gear should not lift or depress more than .003" in either direction. 4- Ring gear should not move away from the pinion at mesh point more than .010". Note: These are the deflections with full motor torque in low gear (low = 3-1) GLEASON WORKS 1000 UNIVERSITY AVENUE ROCHESTER, N. Y. Form 547-150 November 1936 Printed in U. S. A.{Mr Adams} | ||
