We beg to acknowledge your letter of 7th December, advising us of the encouraging behaviour of certain of the experimental discs recently sent to you. Pending the receipt of the official order we are proceeding with the manufacture of: (1) 6 VM.30 discs, splined. (2) 6 S.4947 discs, " (3) 12 S.4947 discs, plain (i.e. without splines) As suggested in a recent "Sales" communication, and as mentioned over the telephone to Mr Grylls, it would be very much cheaper for us to produce these splines projecting into the flanged width of the disc to fit the male steel splines, and we venture to submit this might even prove more satisfactory from your point of view also. This suggestion is made with a view to possible large production, but, of course, the 24 discs detailed above will be made to your drawing No.16740.
