This cover is made of sheet aluminium and surrounds the ballast on the dash, leaving the front with the terminals bare!

It originated owing to the fact that several ballasts were returned broken, presumably due to carelessness when fitting the scuttle and windscreen to the chassis at the coachbuilders.
