EXTRA CYLINDER LUBRICATION.

We wish to carry out experiments on Extra Cylinder lubrication when the engine is cold. To do this we propose using the 20/25 Unit which until recently was used for the Bearing Rig, and the following modifications will be required :-

(1) No. 6 Connecting Rod we wish to have modified to attached print B.V.28.

(2) The crown of No. 6 Piston should be completely machined away.

(3) We shall run the engine on five cylinders only and will require the Cylinder Head for No. 6 Cylinder cutting away from the rest of the Head and the water passages etc. on both the Head and Cylinder Block blanking off. We shall then be able to see if the oil hole is supplying sufficient oil and in the correct position.
