These conditions can only be achieved by there being provided sufficient surface for cooling combined with hand-operated radiator liuvres so that in this country or in cold weather the variations of temperature are directly under the driver's control.

The car used was a 40/50 HP. open touring car (107-MG) normally used for demonstration work in London.

P.S. I think there was not a great deal of harm done to our reputation because of the two pressmen being on the car at the time when so much trouble was experienced with cooling, because I realised the position fairly soon, and explained that the adverse conditions were entirely abnormal apparently arising out of an excess of deposit having taken place somewhere in the line of circulation which caused the i interference. This line was quite a reasonable one to take as it was explained the car had been in use for nearly two years.
