Sft.{Mr Swift} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S. By/S. O.{Mr Oldham} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} +D040 BY15/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 8.5.25. -------------- "V" SERIES PISTONS. ------------------- We have no solution of the piston question in sight which would modify in the slightest the designs which are at present in manufacture. This being so, I propose to go another 100 sets of pistons on the type which has been instructed. Since I have put a taboo on knurling, and therefore the only alternative I have agreed to up to the moment is hammering, I would like to remark that I am prepared to consider correct forming of the piston ring in the first place, along the lines recently put before us by the British Chuck & Piston Ring Company. Will Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} please arrange to put on order the extra material for the above parts, similar to the 100 sets already on order. . BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [Signature] | ||
