C O P Y. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Wh Accident to Chassis 73-SC. This accident appears likely to cause considerable loss to the Company. The facts are being considered by the Administration and the Solicitors, and in the meantime, we are asked to "have statistics prepared as soon as possible, shewing the approximate mileage we run for testing and experimental work, including cars on 10,000 miles tests, and the number of accidents of any importance" BJ suggests that probably the best way of dealing with this would be to take it over the past twelve months. Will you kindly instruct this information to be prepared as soon as possible. There are two claims against us for damages and the driver of the Chassis is summoned to appear for driving to the danger of the public, the summons being returnable for Tuesday next. I do not think it is necessary to prepare these figures elaborately or to do any more than obtain an intelligent idea of how many miles the experimental and testing departments run without going into great detail. We can get out the figures for the number of accidents from our own records. Wh. | ||
