older and weaker, and would want something which would be
more easy to raise. I told the "Babe" what you said
about hood and springs, and he certainly agrees with you
that the difficulty ought to be got over. Each / Henderson
at the R.R. Company, who seems to be a very practical man,
is almost in the same position as myself, having a wife
and no children. He and his wife go driving about all
over the place and are lovers of fresh air. He has been
twentyeight years with the R.R. and he seems an extraordinarily
nice individual. Praise be ~

I have paid for the Chassis this morning and it
rather looks as if it will go to seed, because on the 28th
I go away for a month. - The "Bombastic One" does not return
until after I go, and I do not think that the Babe, and I,
are really satisfied that everything will be quite as the
"Bombastic One" wants us to believe. However, I may be
in a pessimistic frame of mind, and tomorrow or the next day
the Babe and I have got to decide whether we will go to
somebody else to get the tender. Judging by the amount of
trouble that he and I have taken over this it will be a
thorough nuisance having to start all over again, although we
should have the advantage of the "Bombastic One's" plans and
specifications, although it occurs to me it might be rather
