R17/B8.5.13 Re Weekly Report of Experimental Department "B" The benefit of the car is well worth the additional weight which may be reduced but not much by the amount due to the brake drum. I have also come to the conclusion that the spring coupling is not so far needed, this was anticipated early last year. It may have a slightly beneficial effect upon two points:- (1) Make the clutch work slightly better. (2) When axles wear so as to have a greater tendency to periods it may tend to make these less.
