COMBINED MAGNETO & BATTERY IGNITION AUTOMATIC ADVANCE (RR. HYDRAULIC RELAY).
I have done some work on this and from my drawing I find the following, which I describe in the following sketches:-
A cross arm governor, perhaps distinctly larger than that for battery ignition, but otherwise the same.
Connecting links to collar.
Having a stroke of .9 to 1.1
Cross pin & slot
Driving worm.
Inner sliding & revolving spindle.
Sliding box that cannot turn.
Very small dia, double thrust.
Lubricating oil pressure.
2 1/4" dia. cyl.
4" long, fitted with double trunk piston having hat leathers as shewn. Oil pressure admitted between piston trying to get through sleeve of trunk which is perforated in the centre but covered by valve (central collar). See next sketch.
3/4" dia.
5 collars.
Central valve (hollow) having .1 movement up & down in piston.
Exhaust drain to crankchamber.
