1248 copies of PL86? To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c.c. to Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/HH. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JH.4.3.40. Accelerator Pedal Left Hand Senior Range. Attached herewith are two prints of PL.86 showing the Organ type accelerator pedal for the left hand cars of the Senior Range. Apart from the Organ type being the only accelerator pedal possible on these cars, we believe it is thought to be more desirable than that which we now have. For Mr. Hunt's information we would add that we have detailed this scheme and attach the details to his copy of this memo. These require numbering and an L.O.P. The accelerator pedal plate itself is intended finally to be a stay-bright steel pressing, the serrations on the face and the Rolls-Royce monogram are intended to be coined in a manner similar to that used for the word Bentley on the wire wheel hub cap. It will be noted that we have given in this scheme the ratio of the pedal movement and throttle movement as specified by the Experimental Dept. and provided for on the right hand cars on ECD.1514.
