X4260 X4219 We have checked up the Goshawk Frame which was running on the bump test. This frame has been bumped for 75 hours on the rear and 29½ hours on the front. We find that the *back portion of the frame has taken a permanent set.*! Attached to Mr. Royces' copy of this memo, is sketch showing where the frame has bent. For the bumping test we have been using a ballast box so that the disposition of the weight was different to what it would be with the body fitted. We have, however, only loaded the car until the springs were a normal camber. Before the frame was put on the bump test, it was checked over to see that it complied with the drawing. We are also sending a pair of gusset plates off this frame which carry the radiator. It will be seen that both of them have cracked.
