Attention of Mr.Whitehouse.

Dear Sirs,

Regarding the adjustable seat fitting which you left with us on your visit here, we find that unfortunately we are unable to adapt this for the particular car on which we wish to try it out.

We are sending you herewith a blue print giving the size of the angle frame and the heights that we should like the seat to be in the highest and lowest positions.

We appreciate that, in the low position, it may affect leverages. Possibly, to overcome this, you could arrange for a member to carry the end of the tube in which the screw works, to be fixed in a more forward position.

Another point which arises is that the springing of our cushion is very soft and, when the seat is in its lowest position, there will be approximately half an inch clearance between the floor and the underside of the cushion springs. By moving forward the member which carries the tube, it might help in this direction.

You will notice that, on the print, one of the swinging arms is shown offset. This, we think, will put an unnecessary strain on the rivet, and also tend to throw the seat to one side, and you will undoubtedly give this matter your consideration and decide that it may be necessary to construct the fitting in a different manner to that shown, so that the swinging arms are kept parallel with one another, and relieve the seat of the strain mentioned.

If you think that you can make a satisfactory job to the dimensions we have asked, we should like you to have a fitting made as soon as possible, the slides to be fitted with your sponge rubber anti-rattle device.
