Dashboard Stiffness. MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} was recently able to effect definite improvement in the steering of 7-LC, which has been complained of for bad steering for a considerable time, by changing the dashboard. The dashboard which was fitted certainly appeared much more pliable than usual, and could easily be bent and moved about, and the steering did not appear to be as rigid as with other similar type chassis. The fitting of a new dashboard certainly improved matters in this respect and also gave us a much better fitting bonnet. I should like the dashboard which was taken of this car to be thoroughly examined and some action taken so that as far as possible further chassis cannot be built unless the dashboards are satisfactory in this respect.
