EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}14/T14812. We regret to note that the gearbox forwarded to Mr. Royce has arrived damaged and we are today writing the Rly. Co. instructing them to arrange for their inspector to examine so that we may claim as necessary for the repairs.
Perhaps you will take the matter up with Mr. Royce and advise him of this and give us particulars of the damage.
