Report on Experimental Run on 25 h.p. Argyll on September 29th.

The most noticeable points in connection with this car are to my mind the very violent engine vibration and the pleasant action of the brakes.

The Running of the engine is not objectionable until 25 miles per hour is reached. At this speed an extremely bad period occurs and the vibration is particularly violent and continues right up the scale but is reduced somewhat at about 35 m.p.h. When the throttle is shut however the vibrations appear to be bad at nearly all speeds.

The engine will not run well slowly but certainly picks up with power and did not at any time "flop out". (ZENITH)

The petrol consumption was about 16 miles to the gallon; although this is not really good for this size of engine yet it may be accounted for by the fact that the gear is very low.

I should consider the gears to be "fair" and from the continuous sound on top gear I assumed the counter-shaft to be running.

The clutch engages nicely but has a tendency to grab slightly at the last moment.

The gear and the worm driven back axle was from rough measurements rather more than 4 to 1. This is low
