X.4075 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} EFC2/T13.1.22. X.4075 - GOSHAWK WIRING. Please find herewith samples of three specifi- cations of wiring which were fixed up and approved for the R.R. earthed wiring scheme. Attached also please find copy of specification of these cables. The lengths of these wires required per chassis for the 40/50, on the earthed wiring scheme referred to were got out, as follows:- Specification I. Cable - 40/36's. 99 feet. " II. " - 70/36's 59 " " III. " - 84/25's 18 " On this basis sufficient cable was ordered for three chassis, namely, 350 ft., 200 ft. and 60 ft. respectively of the three cables. For the Goshawk wiring scheme it appears that this same wire will be entirely satisfactory and we therefore suggest that a quantity of this wire be ordered from Messrs. Glovers, sufficient for a suitable number of chassis, on the same basis, though the actual lengths required per chassis of the various cables may turn out to be somewhat different. For the convenience of Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} in this connection we would refer him to his enquiry Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}6/NJ16.4.20, only in this case we do not propose having wire in various colours - at any rate in the first instance.
