1091 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/MH.{M. Huckerby} 26th. January, 1939. The Rover Company Ltd., Hay Hall Road, Tyseley, BIRMINGHAM. For the attention of Mr. A.J.Worster. Dear Sirs, The writer would like to thank you for the courtesy extended to our Mr. Aspley and myself through your Mr. Grice. Two points which have since come to mind are as follows:- (a) With reference to the trouble you have had with pistons "picking-up", when running in a bore chrome plated for its entire length. Have you run tin plated pistons against chrome, and if so, what was the effect ? (b) What in your opinion is the most satisfactory method of measuring cyl. bore wear, and what instrument is thus employed ? Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
