CLUTCH. Extract from. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/L 24.11.13.

The clutch is of the expanding band type. The band is of steel strip about 1/16th thick and has a leather strip rivetted to it. The diameter of the band is 13" and the width 3½". There are 70 cork inserts ¼" in dia. fitted in the leather which is 3/16ths thick.
The clutch is very light and this makes the gear changing very easy. It is not a nice clutch to operate, as it "grabs" and has to be either right "in" or right "out".
The pressure required on the pedal to disengage the clutch has to be very great, it is most uncomfortable to work. It must be positively painful to drive this car in dense traffic, due to the excessive pressure required.

GEAR BOX.

The gear box has 4 speeds and one reverse T+ ls
