AND MODIFIED CONTROL GEAR. X.4237 X.4228 X.4239

We send you herewith the original of LeC.1467, of which you have already had a blue print.

Mr. Royce wishes you to cancel the silencer first shewn on this drawing, substituting the simpler and smaller model now designed.

We also attach drawing LeC.1474 shewing the modifications to the control gear to simplify it for the purpose of working only the butterfly throttle by the foot and hand controls for driving the car. The starting cock is operated by a twist shaft running back to the dash.

Mr. Day's department is dealing with the operation of this starting cock shaft from the instrument board, also with the small modification necessary to the driving lever on the dashboard control lay shaft for operating the main throttle, so that the longitudinal control shaft carried on theengine will move through the correct angle.

It has been necessary, owing to the larger float-chamber, for which you had instructions some time ago, to make the petrol connection by means of a banjo union on the side of the filter chamber to avoid fouling the ignition control. Further, Mr. Royce wishes the drain pipe from the carburetter to be attached by means of a union. These two latter points have been attended to on the original of LeC.1467.
