Cutout Operating with High Output Dynamo

A standard cutout has been run on the chassis rig in the laboratory in conjunction with the present production switchbox which makes the dynamo armature contact in the ignition position and a 40/50 high output dynamo running at 1450 rpm. This is a little below the peak speed, the output starts at about 15 amperes and falls on reaching final temperature to 12. The rig was given periods of steady running of a few hours each alternating with periods during which the charge was switched on and off automatically ten or twelve times a minute.
