Royce - Buyer} /Les. re Tyre Prices. Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 2/E22838 Referring to Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 2/MH {M. Huckerby} 29.7.38 and the last paragraph of Page 1, as a policy we should like to adhere if we can to the fitting of Dunlop tyres to RR chassis. We really have no quarrel with Dunlop's and, therefore, we are not very keen on the idea of leaving them with the P.III business only. Judging from ROY {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} 2/P.5.8.38 Dunlop prices will quite possibly come down to IndiaProduction 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes's or below. As a policy, therefore, what we should like to see would be Dunlop tyres on RR chassis, IndiaProduction 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes tyres on the Bentley Sports, i.e. B.III, which would leave B.50 for Avons if their tyres and prices are such as to warrant your recommending them.
