Re Ph.II. Controllable Shock Dampers.

With reference to our conversation on the telephone this morning, we are pleased to hear that the modification you have made to the Controllable Shock Absorbers on the 40/50 h.p. is quite successful, the effect being, I understand, that the amount of pressure applied when the operating lever is moved is more constant than it has been previously.

I understand you are leaving on the set you have fitted to chassis No. 21.-RY and we shall be glad if you will please arrange to fit the next set available to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car No. 104-MY.

I gather that owing to their being a modification in the absorbers you are not able to use production materiel but you will take back with you the set removed from 21-RY, modify these and send them to N. to make the changeover. The set then removed will be returned, modified, and sent to N. to change on our other 40/50 h.p.cars, until you have fitted this all round.

Will Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} please arrange to advise RO.{C. C. Rose - Export Manager} as soon as he receives the modified parts.

We understand that this device has no connection with the other fault which has been complained of, viz. that on occasions the control does not work and consequently the absorbers lose their efficiency, but that this matter is receiving the attention of the Experimental Dept
