To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BJ. Bailey - Chief Engineer} +741 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG25. 7.28. X.7040 X.5040 X.741 PISTONS AND RINGS. 20 HP. 12-G-4 engine is being fitted with pistons to Lec. 2577 and we anticipate this will be satisfactory with normal plain rings. This engine has the bearings without grooves and the tubes fitted to the crankshaft. We are preparing the alternative type scraper rings as shewn on Lec. 2577 and will report on them as soon as we have carried out the tests. PHANTOM. We expect to have a set of pistons made to Lec. 2554 completed immediately after the holidays. Alternative types of scraper rings are being made for this piston similar to those instructed for the 20 HP. We also have some modified scraper rings ready which could be tired on a present standard Phantom. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
