8) BRAKE PEDAL TO N. SCH. 400

The Pedal has given no trouble.

9) CANTILEVER PEDALS N. SCH. 4.I56 TO SUIT RUBBER ENGINE MOUNTING.

The setting of the Clutch Pedal to 5.7/8 from the dashboard, entirely overcame the trouble of the pedal fouling the floor-boards at high speed.

We fitted the extra stay to the frame, from the pedals, to assist in steadying the Engine, otherwise the anchorage was satisfactory. The bolts are inclined to become loose holding the stay on the frame.

10) MAGNESIUM GEARBOX. THIS HAS PREVIOUSLY RUN 10,000 MILES ON 4.B.IV.

We have not observed any failure of the casting due to being made of magnesium; There has been a slight oil leak from the rear bearing, and from the joint of the change speed unit.

The top gear has occasionally come out of mesh when the drive was floating, i.e. on no load driving or over-run. The box has been a good standard for quietness. It has been replenished with two pints of oil, during the total mileage.

11) MAGNESIUM DASH-BOARD & CLUTCH PIT.

There are no faults, neither in the Dashboard nor in the Clutch pit.

12) SHEET STEEL WHEEL ARCHES.

The sheet steel wheel arches have broken up during the latter part of the mileage. The O.S. is very badly split up round the anchorage bracket. The N.S. is similar but has not gone to the same extent.

The unsupported rear of the Body has apparently placed a strain on the arches, which have not been stiff enough to take it.

13) 7 % LOWER AXLE RATIO 10/43.

The Axle has not deteriorated. It has remained a good standard for quietness. Throughout there has been an over-run period from 40/30 MPH.

No appreciable oil leak has developed. A slight weep has been observed from the pinion housing, and from the joint of the N.S. tube to box. No replenishment was necessary.
