82677. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KT. April 21st 1933. Mr. Skinner, The S.U. Company, East Works, Bordesley Green Road, Aderley Park, Birmingham. Dear Mr. Skinner, Many thanks for yours of the 20th inst. Hancock has now returned from France and has brought the pumps back with him. He has fitted small rubber rollers instead of fibre and these appear to be much quieter. I do not think we can put the noise down to air leaks on this particular car. Excessive noise when starting up with an empty floatchamber is strongly objected to by our people. If you could come over here on Thursday of next week to discuss these pumps and to take back the car for your carburetter tests, I think it would be a good arrangement. We are still waiting for those two Bentley carburetters. Yours sincerely, | ||
