Bentley - Cylinder Bore Figures.
-------------------

At the request of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}9/JH.10.10.38, for a comparison wear figure of 3 1/2 and 4 1/4 litre Bentleys, I enclose herewith a chart and drawing taken of cars nearest to the figures of 20,000 miles and 30,000 miles.
The figure of .300" at the crown is the position of maximum wear, the other two figures are the routine position of measurement.

In the plan of the cylinder bore shewn the line "xx" is the average position, which has shewn the maximum wear.
