46122. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.19/MA. 1st November, 1935. Messrs.Brittania Batteries, Ltd., Union Street, Redditch, WORCESTER. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 28th instant reference SM/LHG/W we do not consider it is physically possible to produce a 12 volt alkaline battery of the same electrical capacity, internal resistance, weight, volume and price which could compete with a lead-acid battery. We have been into this question very thoroughly previously and the above was our conclusion. Our standard battery has an average life of 5 to 6 years. Unless therefore you have something more attractive than other Nickel-Cadmium batteries we are afraid that it would not serve any useful purpose for your representative to visit us. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
