A.T. Speedometers.

Referring to your memo ref: EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T5.3.28, we have been in communication with the A.T.Speedometer Company concerning the full temperature compensating device of the above instruments, and give you below copy of a letter received from them this morning which is self explanatory.

"In reply to your esteemed favour of the 3rd inst. "we beg to inform you that all 40/50-HP instruments "are fitted with the full temperature compensating "device in accordance with the instrument which was "submitted to your Experimental Department and passed "by them in July last.

"With regard to the small size instruments we have "found a lot more difficulties in fitting the temperature "device owing to the size of the Magnet and the other "parts connected with the instrument, but have compensated "that instrument to some extent and hope very shortly "to have fully compensated it in every way.

"When we have done so we shall be submitting an "instrument of this small size to your Experimental "Department for their complete approval. We have been "experimenting with this small instrument ever since "July last, with some good results but not to our "complete satisfaction yet. When we are ready this will "entail considerable alterations to the small instruments "as well as obtaining new parts and we think it would be "advisable if you could continue to order the larger "instruments until we can put the small instrument into "production with the new device"
