Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 7th July, 1937. cc C. Chayne, Esq., Chief Engineer, The Buick Motor Company, Flint, Michigan. U.S.A. Dear Chayne, Thank you very much for looking after me during the very enjoyable visit which I spent in Flint. Your Foundry technique has proved most useful in helping us to get out of our trouble. My general impression after a somewhat extended tour in America is that the Buick is an exceptionally fine job. We are particularly anxious to get hold of a 1938 Century Model Buick just as soon as production models are available. I wonder whether you could do anything to help me in this matter? If there is anyone I could write to in the General Motors' organisation, I should be glad if you would let me know. Would it be too much trouble for someone in the Engineering Dept. to ensure that the car was up to standard before it was shipped? On this side we shall, of course, be dealing with Lendrum & Hartman when it comes to making payment. I do hope that we shall be seeing you over this side before long. Yours sincerely, | ||
