BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 7310 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M7.12.27. EAC.10 GEARBOX ETC. X.7310 X.7420 Herewith we send N.sch. 24 2521 shewing the clutch pit. This shews the arrgt. of the front brake differential and clutch operating shaft. It will be noticed that we wish to use as many as possible of the 20 HP. brake differential pieces: subsequent-ly we expect xxxxxx that we shall alter the 20 HP. levers to correspond to this. It will also be noticed that we have modified the bolting as compared with N.sch.2489. We wish to say however that this may not be final as the bolting depends on the crankcase design which is not yet completed. The lever on the clutch operating shaft is based on a pedal .5" further from the centre than EAC.7. We are not sure that this will be finally approved, but we will advise you as soon as possible. We also send N.sch. 2522 - layout of front brake-ropes - shewing the clearance with the starter motor, exhaust pipe, etc. We have yet to send you a drg. of the filler on the gearbox, which we expect to do in the course of the next few days.
