Confirming our conversation of this morning regarding the Bearings in the above material that appear to be soft after heat treatment, it is agreed to accept these bearings with a minimum brinell of 73. Meantime over- ruling 85-90 which is shown on the drawing. This latter figure we understand is the brinell figure reached after the bearings have been in use for a period. Concerning the material in stock at the Alum. Foundry, we shall be much obliged if EM would arrange for this to be returned to H.D.A.Ltd., and replaced in the usual manner.
