X4255 COPY. ES/G14/4/21. X4255 X4254 (struck through) RE "GOSHAWK II" - PROPELLER SHAFT AND COUPLINGS. We send you herewith drawing Lec.1382 in reply to your scheme dealing with the rear universal. Modifications have been made to the front universal joint to accommodate the design for the rear, and also to provide the maximum amount of metal possible on the jaws with an angular movement of ten degrees in any direction. Further, the propeller shaft should now be made of a tube 2¼" diameter x .100 thick swaged down at each end, as indicated on Lec.1382. This shaft should whirl at about 4,000 R.P.M. This drawing concludes the design work of the transmission system. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
