P.III AND B.III ENGINE DETAILS FOR MARINE BUILDERS CONSIDERATION.

With reference to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.14.9.38, the following are the weights required.

(1) Phantom III engine with solid rockers, four port cylinder head, exhaust manifolds, but less flywheel, clutch and electrical equipment..........692 lbs. 10 ozs.

(2) By using magnesium for the lower half, wheelcase and rocker covers approximately 13 lbs. can be saved reducing the weight to...........679 lbs. 10 ozs.

(3) The weight of the electrical equipment on the Phantom III is as follows:-
Dynamo.......31 lbs. 3 ozs.
Starter Motor 30 lbs. 13 ozs.
Dynamo drive & straps.. 5 lbs. 13 ozs.

On Bentley III the weights are:-
Dynamo................ 23 lbs. 14 ozs.
Starter Motor and drive................ 22 lbs. 9 ozs.
Dynamo Drive and Straps............... 4 lbs. 8 ozs.

(4) Flywheel and Clutch weights.

Phantom III. Flywheel....27 lbs. 9 ozs.
Clutch......48 lbs. 9 ozs.

Bentley III. Flywheel....49 lbs. 9 ozs.
Clutch......29 lbs. 2 ozs.
