To G.W.Hancock, Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. +5840 Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/KW.4.1.35. We are bringing out with us next week when we come to try the Cadillac, a modification to the existing 20/25 Carburetter. This consists of putting the slow running on the other side of the throttle so that the changeover position comes at 8 m.p.h. We think that this definitely improves the performance of the car. We admit that this is getting nearer and nearer to the S.U., because in this particular carburetter the throttle edge does so little that if we block up the main jet altogether the engine will not even idle continuously on the amount of mixture provided by the throttle edge. You will have an opportunity of forming an opinion on it. We are hoping to come out and try the Cadillac on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The idea is that we come across on the morning boat on Wednesday, meet the Cadillac and 21-G-IV at Boulogne, spend the rest of the day running round Northern France, and catch the boat back the next day. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and various other Sales people are probably coming over. I will cable you confirmation of times on Monday. The K.L.G. plugs which you will have received are to overcome the difficulty of the copper burning away. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
