W/S - Lp{Mr Lappin}: X 3317 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}14/KW.15.6.34. I wanted to buy one of the new Buick series '40' cars. These are 233 cu.ins. displacement, 8 cylinders. In America the 5-passenger, 4-door Sedan sells for 895 dollars. The car is rather bigger than I expected; therefore I am not quite so enthusiastic as I was and shall certainly want to try one before I place an order. Oy. says we shall have to deal with the General Motors Export, London, with regard to purchasing a car. If I do not buy one, it is probable that Messrs. Rolls-Royce will. I wonder whether you would be good enough to (a) get in touch with G.M. Exports and find out when they could let us have a trial run, (b) find out at what price they would be prepared to sell the car to the Company, (c) when they would be prepared to offer delivery.
