X8390 S/W C4/04.12.26. Re Front Wing Stays for Phantom. Hsl/LG22.11.26. ----- We were not aware that the Standardisation Sheet was so far ahead as this. It was held up in the first instance because it was a question of whether it was worth our going to the expense, in view of the fact that it is impossible for us to get any allowance for them from the Coachbuilders. It was afterwards understood, however, that the saving we should affect in the lamp brackets or stumps, would cover the expense of these stays. We therefore wrote asking if you could send us along a couple of sets as we would like to submit these to Barkers and Hoopers (as leading coachbuilders) in order to get their remarks upon them, as, of course, the stays do affect the shape of the Coachbuilders wings. If you could send these along, we will get the Coachwork Committee to settle the matter as quickly as possible. C. | ||
