Austin - HPJ.748 ENGINE. Engine performance poor for a 10 H.P. car. Light period 45 - 55 MPH., otherwise a smooth engine. Note. Very poor noise insulation scheme on dashboard. Engine cuts right out below 10 MPH. full throttle Zenith Carb fitted. CLUTCH. Smooth in action - no complaints. GEAR BOX. Do not consider this box is up to Morris 8 standard. 1st Gear - Noisy. 2nd " - Fairly Good. 3rd " - Whines on overrun. Side shaft passable, Synchro Mesh goon on 3rd and top occasionally fails on 2nd Gear. AXLE. Usual small car standard for noise. Worst period 35 - 45 MPH. forward, light load. BRAKES. Good for small car. STEERING Is on the heavy side, oversteers with all tyre pressures correct, otherwise good, no joggles. Steering column, together with front end of car is generally steady. - continued - | ||
