450. BY/NS.{Norman Scott} c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/G.20.5.39. B.V. CROSS STEERING LEVERS. The 7/16" diameter bolts holding the cross steering lever to the stub axle, which have been used on Bentley II since its existence, have shewn some signs in an accident on B.V. of not being stronger than the lever or the cross steering tube, as we should wish them to be. We accordingly send PD.434 herewith, in which we have shewn these bolts increased to .500" diameter. Slight modifications to the stub axle and cross steering lever dies are needed. Details urgently required. Applies to all rationalised cars as well as B.V. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
