To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. EFC. c. Mr. Hives. X.2676 Bnl/P12.5.19. X.604. RE BATTERIES FOR FIRST FEW 40/50 HP. CHASSIS With regard to your conversation with me on Friday last, I think it is most probable that we shall use, for about the first 30 chassis, the smaller Chloride battery, which is expected in to-day., and perhaps you will therefore have prepared drawings of a box to accomodate this battery. We anticipate that by about Thursday of this week, the point will be settled, and that the boxes may then be ordered, but owing to the shortage of time and the pressure of work in your drawing office, it appears desirable for you to be able to get ahead with this design work. We do not anticipate that we shall use the Chloride for many chassis, but that we shall turn over to the Lucas at the beginning of July, by which time Mr. Clarke hopes to have the modified battery of this type, and to have completed the necessary tests.
