Barrel Forgings.

Confirming your instructions of yesterday and further to our conversation with HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} and Ve/NP we have to-day requested Mr. Burton of English Steel Corporation Ltd. to put in hand 30 Barrels to the following specification -

(1) Material.
The material will be "vibrac" steel of the following approximate composition:-

Carbon 0.28 to 0.32%
Silicon Max. 0.30%
Manganese 0.6 to 0.7%
Sulphur Max. 0.04%
Phosphorous Max. 0.04%
Nickel 2.4 to 2.7%
Chromium 0.6 to 0.7%
Molybdenum 0.6 to 0.65%

Steel to be produced by Acid open hearth melting.
