To H/S/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Kingsbury Oct 8th Bentley B102FB Clutch Complaint of Mr B H Swindon The above Car had to be towed in yesterday due to the clutch having burnt out. The following is the record of this clutch. 554 miles Pedal on Board 2,792 miles reset. 7,000" burnt-out. Examination of the clutch showed that it had been slipped excessively, the pressure plate and flywheel plate were in a very bad condition, the facing on one of the metal was like a destruction soft test. In my opinion the trouble is cut-clear to the foot not being taken off the pedal or more likely high revving engine whilst engaging. There is no doubt that it has been brutally treated. The Owner is apparently not satisfied, but I think if the clutch had had a chance the above would not have happened. JH Hancock | ||
