After a consideration of the relative weight on, the diameter of, and the probable relative amount of slack in each pair of surfaces it seems more probable than not that the studs as shewn require back nuts with right hand threads. This matter should be investigated as a preliminary on the revolving test to determine whether right and left hand threads are necessary for back nuts and if so, which hand is required.
