RE STANDARDISATION SHEETS FOR:-
(1) P & R Battery type Bh.11.
(2) Exide Battery type 6XRD.
(3) R.R. Std. Starter Motor built up with solid poles and no insulation between armature plates.
(4) Two Series, two parallel connection of field coil winding of R.R. Std. Starter motor, together with starter motor cables of increased section of conducting core.

With reference to R3/M19.7.22 addressed to CJ., also to our EFC3/T14.7.22, EFC1-2/T25.7.20 and EFC1/T27.7.22, we do not know whether you have received further expressions of opinion on this matter from other technical members of the staff, but take it, in view of Mr. Royce's note, that standardisation sheets of these parts cannot be proceeded with.

There still remains, however, the question as to whether the P & R BD.{Mr Berend}11 battery, being no heavier taking all things into consideration, should not be adopted, say, as a simultaneous standard with the present Exide 6 EXRE5.

Perhaps it would be as well for this Dept. to issue a new standardisation sheet for this P & R battery on these lines.

EFC.
