With reference to the complaint received, we are able to report that the cause of failure is due to the Sistoflex insulation becoming burnt through, which caused a short circuit between the series coil connector and the resistance coil brackets. The clearance at this point is very small and instructions have been issued for fitting a leatheroid insulator - D76077, also to remove the bakelite ridge which extends along the top of the bakelite base so that the conductor may be trained as far away from the resistance coil brackets as possible. This modification commenced at 141 in 'C' Series, and we are sure no further trouble is liable to develop. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Smd.{J. Smedley} | ||
